Planning for the Sydney Olympic and Paralympic Games Period

The Toll Group recognises that the Sydney Olympic and the Paralympic Games, to be held during September and October 2000, will have a dramatic impact on transport and logistics operations not only in Sydney, but also in regional and interstate areas.

Toll established a Project Team in August 1999 to facilitate transport and logistics planning during the games. Additionally, a Project Officer was appointed to oversee and advise on planning with the Company, during the games, and liaise with official and associated Olympic bodies.

The massive scale of the Games demands a detailed and co-operative approach to planning. Toll businesses have been pro-active in liaising with customers to understand their needs during the Olympic period to ensure business continuity. In addition, to transport and logistics, Toll is also addressing workforce management, security and supplier issues.

Toll is also committing resources to customers who are Official sponsors or supplying Official sponsors to ensure the additional requirements for delivering to Olympic venues are met.
